TFLN

TFLN (short for Thin Film Lithium Niobate) is a material used for next-generation telecommunication devices and integrated photonics. It enables future technologies e.g. quantum computing. In addition, TFLN is likely to be a key enabler of the 1.6 and 3.2 terabit optical switches and interconnects, which means that as consumers strive for faster and better service, TFLN will be essential.

Modulators using TFLN are not only highly efficient since they consume very little power, but they are also capable of operating with an extremely high bandwidth (approximately 250 Gbaud) and with lower insertion losses compared to most other contenders. Furthermore, TFLN can significantly reduce the overall device size.

TFLN solutions represent an important optimization opportunity especially to industries such as telecom, artificial intelligence and RF communications.
